Dust Suppression
Inevitably, structural demolition can cause high levels of dust emissions which can in turn cause nuisance and inconvenience to neighbouring properties and their occupiers.
Historically the way to deal with this occurrence is with a water spray hose, held by an operative standing close to the working excavator. Although a solution that works in many instances, a greater degree of suppression is sometimes called for.
CDC has recently invested in the latest development of automatic dust suppression. We have added the DustBoss DB30 Dust and Odour Control Units to our fleet of equipment. These units are fully automatic, oscillating ducted fans with a high pressure misting system. The units are easily mobile, do not need an operator and can be set up in a matter of minutes. Water usage is also less than traditional fire hose and sprinkler methods.
Coverage is up to 500m2 and the oscillation gives 70 degrees coverage horizontally and up to 60 degrees vertically. The fine mist of water droplets created can also be adjusted, ranging in size from 50-200 microns, the optimal size for agglomeration of dust particles.
